Calm Down, Please

This is going to be a short blog, but it needs to be said. Everyone needs to calm down about Spring Training performances. The actual numbers couldn't mean less. I looked at the standings for the past two spring trainings and checked out how the playoff teams did. Exactly half finished above .500, while the other half finished below. So basically, a good spring training is a complete non factor in the regular season. So for everyone worried about Beckett's spring performance, relax. All he's worried about is getting his pitch count up. Oh, and today wasn't all that bad for him. Only one of the runs was earned. So please, everyone stop telling me how nervous, or excited for that matter, you are about this season because of spring training performance. It means nothing.
